FINALLY, Texas Republicans have a party platform agenda I can agree with, and I think would only make the United States of America stronger.
> Texas retains the right to secede from the United States, and the Texas Legislature should be called upon to pass a referendum consistent thereto.
AMEN, Hallelujah, that's what I've been saying, secede Texas and at least half our national nightmare goes away. We'd still have fucking Florida, but they'll drown soon.
/r/politics got it, and my favorite comment so far:
> What can I do to help?
@mdhughes Hrrm. I wonder what the actual mechanics of state secession are? Like, I'm pretty sure it's more than just "We're Seceeding. Buh-BYE!" :)
@feoh Sadly, it's completely delusional. There's no process, and the Supreme Court has already ruled that secession is treasonous and not included in the 10th Amendment states' rights.
If not for the whole Civil War thing, they *could* just pass some kind of bill and no longer be Americans de jure instead of just de facto.
@mdhughes hahaha we should start a "goodbye texas" movement back in the states to help give them that extra nudge
